The Liebster award

I have been nominated for the Liebster award by hargunwahi from Living The Dream whom I sincerely thank for this nomination. I’m glad to accept it.

The word Liebster is derived from German meaning sweetest, kindest, nicest, beloved and the like. This award is given to up and coming bloggers with less than 200 followers. I’m thankful to hargunwahi. for giving me this opportunity to motivate fellow bloggers, to encourage them to continue the good work, irrespective of the size of their audience.

Done with introductions, aren’t we? So let’s begin with the task:

Here are the rules to accept and nominate further:

  • Display the Liebster award on your blog.
  • Thank and link back to your nominator.
  • Answer the nominator’s 11 questions.
  • Nominate 11 other bloggers with about 200 or fewer followers and link to them.
  • Draft 11 new questions for your nominees.
  • Notify your nominees via their blogs or social media.

Here are the answers to the questions sent to me:

What made you venture into the blogging world?

I wanted to have somewhere I could practice my writing skills with a view to becoming a published author, learn new skills and techniques and connect with other writers. More than anything I want to prove to myself I’m a writer.

What do you like best in blogging? any memory that remains in your mind?

The best bit about of blogging is discovering your inner voice through your writing and surprising yourself with what you can do. Realising you can do better, realsing you are better.

If you had a full day to yourself, would you spend it yourself or chill out with friends?

Not by myself, not with friends. With my true soulmate whoever that may be. With the best friend anyone can have. Your true love.

Has anyone ever made you feel on the top of this world?

Yes, but she used that to break my heart at a later date.

Ever had a dream that scared/amused you? Narrate it in a few words. 😛

I found myself at a funeral home and there was an open casket ceremony with all the attendees filing past the coffin. For some reason I joined the procession and I was the last in line. As I passed the corpse opened its eyes and it had the eyes of a snake. It turned its head and looked at me and said in a horrible voice “Prove I exist!” I spat on its forehead and said “I seek refuge in God from the accursed Devil” three times. The corpse closed its eyes and was still. My interpretation of the dream is when you meet true evil don’t parley or compromise with it. Seek refuge in God and face it down. Evil needs you to validate it to make it stronger

Have you made friends you cherish, here?

I hope so, tine will tell.

If you ever hit a jackpot, what would be your first purchase?

A large plot of land and a house in Barbados

The post you are proudest of till date?

The one I wrote about my my most influential teacher.

What do you like to eat in breakfast- something specific?

Half a dozen scrambled eggs, lightly salted and heavily peppered with roughly ground black peppercorns, fried in coconut oil with a small chopped red onion. To be savoured with a cafetiere of fresh Ethiopian coffee.

Do you have a pet at home? If yes, do tell a trait you find amusing.

No pets I’m afraid

Any Advice you would like to give to a fellow bloggers from your blogging experience?

Rule no1: Start
Rule no2: Don’t Stop
Rule no3: Embrace change

My nominees are:

Arundhati Mukherjee

My 11 questions for you all (ripped from films & shows)

“What do you want?” (What’s your blogs mission?)
“Where are you going?” (What’s your personal ambition)

From Captain America: The Winter Soldier?

  1. Congrats! Great answers! You know, it’s so weird, although I can’t say I’m very religious, on a couple of occasions, when I saw something evil in my dreams, I said the most basic prayer any child learns first and it helped instantly. Maybe if your subconscious reacts in this way, it shows that you do in fact truly believe.

  4. 🙂 Awww, bless you too! Thanks for checking out the site and take your time on the response. Find the questions that tell as much to the person being asked as the answers do to you! For me looking through the other Liebster Awards I felt it was important to choose a set of questions that said something about where you were coming from mentally. My second choice would have been questions from song titles. (hint 🙂 )

  5. Hey there! Congrats on getting the award! 🙂 Also your #1 & 2 answers are the same reasons why I blog too! I am always surprising myself by the words I write as well. Love your blog topics and I look forward to reading more.
